Where to report lead paint, by county

The Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø has been helping victims of lead poisoning and serious personal injuries for more than 40 years, and we are proud of that legacy. Below are the public numbers families use to report lead paint and ask for health contacts. Please call for a free consultation as well — a call to a health department is not a call to this firm. There is no fee to speak to us or for us to evaluate your potential case.

New York City — call 311 first

The five boroughs are one city health department. Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island do not have separate county lead hotlines on the State list.

Call 311, or 212-NEW-YORK (212-639-9675). Ask for Healthy Homes, or for Lead Safety if a child already has lead poisoning. You can report peeling paint, lead dust from repair, and a possible lead-paint danger in a NYCHA apartment.

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Lead Program — 253 Broadway, 11th Floor, Box CN58, New York, NY 10007 · 212-676-6105. That is the State-list program line. It is not a replacement for 311 on the parent pages the City tells families to use.

NYCHA residents: report peeling paint to the NYCHA Customer Contact Center at 718-707-7771, or MyNYCHA. Immigration status does not affect a housing complaint to 311. The complaint is free.
